Since we launched Phonezoo over a year ago, we’ve learned a lot about our users. Two things that come across loud and clear is that people want what they want, when they want it, and people want it to be FREE. So with that in mind, we asked ourselves “What can we offer people to help them make free ringtones that are more personal and more interesting?” We started with the Voice Recorder tool, which enables people to record their own voice, make a ringtone and send it to their phone. But now we are happy to introduce something even more customizable.
Yesterday, we launched the “Build Your Own” ringtone tool (under the Ringtones tab). Now you can mix and match different backgrounds, sounds and even your own voice to make a ringtone that is uniquely yours. While this feature allows for limitless creative possibilities, we’ve tried to keep it very easy to use. Here’s how it works:
· Start by choosing one of our 10 backgrounds, if you want. These represent different musical styles and serve as the foundation for your ringtone.
· Then, record something using your own voice, if you like. You can record something funny, something personal or just something interesting.
· You can then add any number of different sounds to your ringtone. With our drag and drop editor, you can put sounds anywhere within the ringtone.
· Give your ringtone a name and send it to your phone
We will continue to add new backgrounds and sounds on a regular basis to keep the content fresh.
Though we perform a copyright check on these ringtones, we expect the vast majority to be able to be shared with others.
Please give it a try and let us know what you think. We’d love to hear your suggestions for additional sounds to include.
I signed up for phonezoo yesterday and just got a spam text about some stupid website… I thought phonezoo was free?
I think you should be able to create your own ringback toness.
Melissa. Same thing here. New Phone-New Service- I’ve only been to 1 (ONE) ringtone site: Phonezoo. Now I receive SPAM messages 2-3 times per day.
What’s up that that, Phonezoo? I’ve taken the liberty of reporting it to our local better business bureau. Hopefully when they discover you’re spamming people, you’ll be listed as deceptive.
We have a strict no-spam policy and follow it rigorously. We started Phonezoo with the intent to never send these type of messages.
Please be assured that we are not sending you any content. In fact, Phonezoo will not send out a single message without you specifically requesting a ringtone by hitting “Send to phone” on the website.
We send the link via email messaging to the phone. This method is open to anyone who wants to reach you via SMS. Someone out there is misusing this to send you the material you describe. Its certainly not Phonezoo.
You may want to look carefully through the message to see where it originated. Again, let us assure you that Phonezoo does not send out any such content
Let us know if you need further clarification
